The Quay- Sydney, Australia April 20th 2010.

I had a three-course meal and it was yummy.

For an entrée I had butter poached quail breasts with pink turnips and onions, white lentils, morels, truffle custard, bitter chocolate black pudding, jamon de bellota and milk skin.

For the main course I had crisp pressed duck confit with kabu turnips, winter melon, hasuimo, garlic chive buds, sea scallops and duck juices.

For dessert I had an eight texture chocolate cake featuring Amedei ‘Chuao’ Chocolate.

The highlight was the eight texture chocolate cake, I am dreaming of it… there was a crunchy bit and a moussey bit and a chocolate cakey bit and an oozy chocolate bit and a firm chocolate bit and a hard chocolate bit and I can’t remember the others.

The staff at The Quay gave me the Royal Treatment with a visit to the Kitchen! I met Peter Gilmore and all the chefs!

The service was flawless amidst beautiful scenery. We had a wonderful view of not only the Opera House but also the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

(Since dining at The Quay, The Quay has been awarded 27th place in the World’s Best List. According to the Sydney Morning Herald ‘The restaurant, which debuted at No.46 last year, leaped 19 places to its new ranking on the S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants awards, announced in London overnight.’ I say WOW!)
