Astral Restaurant 16th February 2010 Astral Restaurant - Star City

For me one of the highlights is the bread cart. The bread cart has three types of bread. The bread cart contains sour dough, white and multigrain. My favourite bread was the sour dough that I covered with butter all the way from Holland.

For my Entrée I had a beautiful Jurassic Quail with tofu, foie gras, young spinach puree, shimeji mushrooms and shisho dressing. The Quail was fabulous because the flavour was like fireworks! I loved the foie gras and tofu with the Quail.

For my Main Course I had Bos Taurus Beef with miso cured, Hollandaise, King mushrooms and jus gras. When the taste touched my tongue, I knew it wasn’t any ordinary beef, it was extraordinary beef.

For my Dessert, I had Chocolate Dacquoise with Passionfruit, Coconut and Champagne foam. However the chef changed Champagne foam to Chocolate Caramel Foam because I don’t like Champagne foam. I loved how they made a chocolate cylinder with the Chocolate foam, passionfruit ice cream and chocolate mousse inside.

The service was very well organized and they were very friendly and kind. I even got to talk to Sean Connolly throughout the meal.

As a nine year old, I recommend Astral for all families.

Attempting a Sean Connolly recipe...

Sarah, a lovely lady who works with Sean emailed me some of Sean's recipes!

Below is my attempt at his Chocolate Fondant recipe. My Mum and Dad helped me but we couldn't work out
how to turn it out in one piece beautifully like Sean does.

Here it is in one of my Souffle dishes - but you should see how it looks when Sean makes it.
